Biography:
Dr. Ahmed is a first-generation Somali immigrant who grew up in Minneapolis, MN. She went to college and medical school at the University of Minnesota before coming to Boston for residency. Growing up in a city with a large Somali population, she witnessed the disconnect between her community and the healthcare system. This inspired her to pursue a career in medicine to help provide culturally competent care. Her long-term interests include global health work in Africa and healthcare management. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahmed enjoys cooking dishes from around the world, traveling and spending time outdoors.
