Biography:
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Roy earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Northwestern University. Alongside his medical training at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine, he pursued master’s and doctoral degrees in sociology from the University of Cambridge as a Gates Cambridge scholar. His research focused on the social and structural determinants of health, and his doctoral thesis investigated the political economy of drug development and treatment access for patients with hepatitis C. He was inspired to pursue family medicine in part by his grandfather who was a rural family physician in India.
