Codman Square Health Center offers extensive treatment and case management services for people living with HIV. We offer an open and affirming environment, and always welcome new patients. We are proud to be a LGBTQ+ friendly, culturally competent, multi-lingual safe space.
Codman also hosts the X-Clinic, which is a service that performs fast and easy tests and provides treatment for sexually transmitted infections.

Treatment Resources
- We have several physicians, nurses, and case managers who are experienced working with people living with HIV.
- Our staff is diverse, and many speak Spanish or Haitian Creole.
- Our onsite pharmacy stocks many medications for people living with HIV, which means you can pick up your medication during any visit to the health center and save yourself a trip.
Case Management
We offer all patients living with HIV case management services.
Our case managers find the best treatment options for each patient to help them stay healthy. Case managers support patients with:
- Transportation
- Housing
- Utilities
- Food resources
- Advocacy
- Scheduling appointments, sending reminders, coordinating care
Prevention
In addition to HIV treatment, we have services to help prevent HIV.
- Free condoms
- Same-day PrEP prescriptions. PrEP is a once-a-day pill that greatly reduces the risk of being infected with HIV. Patients who would like a PrEP prescription can get an appointment the same day they call.

- Same-day test results, generally available within 2-hours of testing
Integrated Behavioral Health
- Codman’s Behavioral Health department works closely with HIV case managers to help patients process changes to their health, including their mental health.
- Codman’s Behavioral Health providers can also help with patients experiencing depression or anxiety or coping with adverse childhood events (ACE) and other trauma.
- Providers can assist patients in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), EMDR, mindfulness, and other techniques.

Frequently Asked Questions
Call the Call Center (617) 825-9660 and tell the receptionist you would like to request a referral to a specialist. Leave a number that you can be contacted back at throughout the day. Let them know what type of referral you are requesting. Make sure you have seen your provider within the past year or understand that an appointment may be necessary for the provider to make an assessment prior to initiating the referral.

Yes. You can call the Call Center at (617) 822-8271 and ask to schedule an appointment with Insurance Services.
Yes, we will process an application for non-patients on a walk-in basis.
We provide an Uber for patients who need to go to specialty services at BMC. See our Information Desk to arrange a ride.
