Tasha Kitty joined the CSHC Board in January 2021. Tasha is a visionary Human Resources & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion executive with a long-standing and progressive HR leadership career creating culture change, internationally recognized HR programs, cost-effective HR solutions, and demonstrated successful Learning & Development strategies. She’s served in various executive positions such as Chief People Officer, VP of People, and VP of HR & Learning & Development. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology (and minors in English and African-American Studies), a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Relations, and is a Cornell University Certified Diversity Practitioner. Her specialty credentials include a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification, 360 coaching/assessments credentials, and a certified Master Life Coach. She’s spoken as a panelist for both virtual and live events, webinars, and conferences on all things HR.
For over 20 years, Tasha has been revered as a change agent in the HR space with a strong ability to build and cultivate relationships at all levels. She effectively stepped out of her accomplished “in-house” career to launch her own HR Consulting Company, Smart Startup HR, for startups, small-midsize companies, and nonprofits. Those who’ve worked with and for Tasha speak highly of her ability to galvanize around the “What’s next?”, “What can we do differently?”, “What will that look like?” and “What will it take to get us there?” questions.
Tasha brings far more to the table than her depth in HR experience. As a first-generation college graduate she’s been a dedicated mentor for underrepresented racial and immigrant groups and first-generation students with Thrive Scholars. She enjoys Zumba, cooking, traveling and beauty. She regularly contributes to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Horizons for Homeless Children (where she temporarily stepped away from her corporate career to lead an overhaul of the HR function), and her church.
