Get peace of mind. Get Tested. Get Treated. Get Protected.
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) testing at the X–Clinic is easy!
We provide comprehensive, confidential testing at no cost to you, as well as treatment for STIs (HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, Hepatitis B & C). Counseling on HIV and STI prevention and risk reduction are also provided.
Why Get Tested?
Because getting tested for STIs is an important part of taking care of yourself. STIs are common and anyone who is sexually active can get one. It can be hard to know if you have an STI as often there are no signs, so getting tested is the only way to know.
If you feel you may have been exposed to, or have signs of, an STI or HIV you may want to get tested. Some general symptoms of an STI include sores on the genitals, discharge from the penis or vagina, itching and burning when peeing.
Even if you don’t have symptoms, you could have an STI. So get tested today. The good news is that tests have gotten easier and quicker. Even better, many STIs are curable, and ALL are treatable. To help determine which tests to take, visit us right away.
How does an STI test work?
Getting tested can be quick and easy. Depending on what you are being tested for, your provider may take a blood sample, a swab, or ask you to pee in a cup. Easy!
If positive, you can get treated in the X- Clinic or with your PCP. Codman Square Health Center is a Patient-Centered Medical Home, meaning you can get all your care here. It’s a one-stop shop for all your needs.
All of the samples taken from these tests are sent to the laboratory located within the health center. We receive the results confidentially and will schedule a follow up appointment to provide you with the test results. You can also call us to know your results. HIV test results will be provided on the same day in as little as 2 hours. Codman Square Health Center is proud to be one of the few sites in the state to offer the most accurate 4th Generation Lab based HIV testing within 2 hours.
