About
Codman’s School-Based Health Center is a satellite clinic of Codman Square Health Center open Monday through Friday at the Dorchester Education Complex at 9 Peacevale Road. To become a Health Center member, students need to have a consent form signed. All Health Center services are confidential, and students need a pass from class to be seen.

DEC School-based Health Center Staff and Programs
Jane Tuitt, Nurse Practitioner
Jane provides medical services to registered Health Center members, including physical exams/sports physicals, assessment and treatment of illness, asthma treatment/management, injury care, and health assessments and prevention counseling. Jane looks forward to working with Dorchester’s student support team. Jane is also on staff at Codman Square Health Center where she sees patients in Adolescent clinic every Wednesday and Friday afternoon after school hours.
Dr. Guevara (”Dr. G”), Dentist
Dr. Guevara provides dental services on Thursday mornings at the School-based Health Center, including but not limited to check-ups, cleanings, fillings, and x-rays. Dr. Guevara is the Associate Dental Director at the Codman Square Health Center and has practiced dentistry for over 15 years.
Marilyn Talor, Dental Assistant
Marilyn is at the Dorchester Education Complex every Thursday from 9am-12pm. She works with Dr. G and assists him in helping to take care of patients at the high school.
Petra Ebisemiju, School Nurse
Petra sees students who are feeling ill or have other health needs. She can provide over-the-counter medication (with parental permission) and other medication with a doctor’s written orders. Petra also manages and updates students’ health records (physical exam, allergy, health issues) and required school health records.
Carmen Cruz, Social Work/Behavior Health (Thursday)
Carmen provides mental health services and stress counseling for students. In this regard, Carmen hopes to be a resource to and supportive part of Dorchester’s behavioral health staff.
Penny Almedia, Health Educator/Sexual Health (Monday)
Penny sees students to provide counseling, education, and information around sexual health issues, including puberty, pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease, and reproductive health care. She is happy to work with school staff to plan presentations for students.
Sarita Richards, Registration and Appointments
Sarita registers new Health Center members and manages appointments, schedules, and the Health Center office. She also refers uninsured students who need help getting health insurance to the proper resources.
